THE MOLLY MARTINI
I'm thrilled to share with you this signature cocktail recipe (and the reason for my nickname, our Spotify playlist, etc) the Molly Martini.
Recently, my dear friend Julia Amory, founder of India Amory linens, asked us to style a table featuring her linens for her blog The Block Print. I instantly knew I would share my set up for a proper bar, as well as the recipe for my favorite cocktail.
Slightly dirty and gin forward, this is my go to for all entertaining occasions. Simply omit the olive juice if you don't care for it, or sub vodka, it works both ways. I've shared the recipe below, with some fun outtakes from the shoot, but be sure to read The Block Print feature for 6 essential entertaining tips from MM!
THE MOLLY MARTINI
- 2 shots Gin (Tanqueray)
- 1/8 shot of Vermouth
- 1/2 shot of olive juice (castelvatrano is preferred)
Step 1 - Fill martini glass with ice water to chill glass, fill shaker with ice
Step 2 - Combine gin, vermouth, and olive juice in shaker with ice
Step 3 - Gently stir for approximately 15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker is very cold to touch, taste
Step 4 -
Remove the ice water from martini glass and place olive garnish in glass (here I piped Castelvetrano olives with dolce Gorgonzola that I whipped with a bit of cream cheese in the food processor for a milder, guest friendly blue cheese note, and put out unstuffed olives for those who don't like blue cheese) pour stirred martini into glass over olive garnish and enjoy!
Step 5 - Party time! I chose to dress my bar table with Julia's Strawberry Fields, and threw on our summer Lizzy Shift for easy entertaining high style. Crank up the Molly Martini playlist, and for extra MM brownie points, pull some pigs in a blanket out of the freezer and into the oven, you're ready for a fabulous night!
